Foundations and Scholarships

 

The LGBT Caucus at Virginia Tech Scholarship  - The LGBT Scholarship, presented by the LGBT Caucus at Virginia Tech, is available to students who have made contributions to the LGBT community through leadership, service, volunteering or research.

 

The Point Foundation - "Point Foundation empowers promising LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society."

 

The Pride Foundation - "Pride Foundation provides post-secondary educational scholarships to current and future leaders in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington."

 

PFLAG National Scholarships (Incoming Freshmen) - "Founded in 1972 with the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest family and ally organization. Made up of parents, families, friends, and straight allies united with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT), PFLAG is committed to advancing equality and societal acceptance of LGBT people through its threefold mission of support, education and advocacy. LEAGUE Foundation Scholarships (Incoming Freshmen) - "The LEAGUE Foundation provides financial resources for America's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender youth to attend institutions of higher learning to meet this mission."

 

National Women's Studies Association  - "Established in 1977, the National Women's Studies Association has as one of its primary objectives promoting and supporting the production and dissemination of knowledge about women and gender through teaching, learning, research and service in academic and other settings."

 

The Association for Queer Antropology - "Although Los Angeles, 1978, marked the first official meeting of the Anthropology Research Group on Homosexuality (ARGOH, now SOLGA [and now AQA]), the history of the organization goes back further still."
